So something you should know. I don't just look 13, I am 13.
I am ever immortalized in this age. Ask anyone. The other day, the man at the grocery was shocked when mom told him I was 21. "No way, I thought she was like 13 or 14." Don't worry sir, I still am. There is a part of me that will never grow up.
I love to sing and dance and just be silly like a 13 year old. There is something innocent and happy about just being 13. So even though every July 23, people congratulate me on completing another year of my life, I just smile and say thanks. I'm still 13 at heart. Always will be and will certainly look it for a long time.

BREAK
My business calculator is safely tucked away!
It's time for quality time with the family. Time for movie watching, book reading, and PLAYING. Lots of it. Time to just relax and eat. I'm trying to break into the 100's ;)

So close, but yet not
Hello it's me and I'm blogging when I probably shouldn't be.
Financial Accounting tomorrow at 11 am sharp. Help. Lots of help. Scared, stressed ... ahhh. Wish me luck? Gosh this semester has been something else. I'm surprised I've survived. Well I almost have.
One more week. Yeah, only the hardest week of the semester.

See the World through Open Eyes
Open your eyes wider. Can't you see how bright things are? Possibilities.
You are never lost when you can see the temple. It makes things bright - always.
Yesterday, I got a call from New York City. An invitation. I accept.
Love,
Amy Melissa Hansen

ENJOY
ENJOY. This is what I write at the top of my planner every week. Be grateful. I am grateful for the challenges and struggles I am facing because they mean I am being streched. Yes, at times it is painful, but when I look back all I can be is grateful.
"Wow, I did it. I've come so far!" I am changing. I am growing. My character is being build. Yes, I am still Amy Hansen, but I am a better one. That is the goal of this life.
And so every week at the top of my planner I write ENJOY. It reminds me to be smile and be grateful for the times when I feel lost and completely overwhelmed. The Junior Core changes you into a better you, so ENJOY :)

Best Friends
I love petting zoos. When I see an animal all I want to do is pet it or talk to it. I believe animals understand humans. They aren't dumb. They get the gist of what you're saying.
So I talk to them . I tell them my problems and successes, but mostly I just talk. I ask them for their opinion.
At my wedding, I want a petting zoo. I want black and white animals -- horses, swans, rabbits, lambs . . . No, I'm serious. Oh, and I also want a root beer fountain.

Just Bee Yourself
It's me and it's summer. I love summer. It is the best season of the year because it means my sunshine, beach days, shorts, sun dresses, my birthday, and family time. So guess what?! I ended up leaving the country. I spent a week in the Bahamas and it was wonderful :)
And now I am doing an internship at a financial firm and I love it. I am learning so much and the best part is that work begins every morning at 9 am with some hot chocolate, Steward Weitzman heals, and a skirt suit of my choice. I sit in front of my computer screens in my office and watch the market to the hum of Bloomberg reports.
Guess what else, I start riding hunter jumpers again on Saturday. Can't wait to be on a horse again. Pure joy. Oh and I got on a dirt bike last week for the first time in way too long. Life is good.

Food on Demand
I have a confession to make. I love vending machines. I seem to find them everywhere on campus and when I do, I often have to get something(s). I don't know what it is.
Maybe it's the fact that I can have anything inside as long as I swipe my card. Inside those glass cases are a few of my guilty pleasures, namely those little white powdered donuts or the sour watermelon candies, mmmm. Vending machines are just so cooperative -- I select; it vends.
As a child I loved them even more. I loved them almost as much as the snack bar at John's little league games. Perhaps my love can be attributed to the fact that the machines are just so giving. Either way, I really admire people and things who do what they are told because I do have a part of me finds pleasure in not doing what I'm told. Yes, contrary to popular belief, my rebellious side does exist.

Domestic Drowning
For the first time ever, I am sitting on the edge of summer and have no plans to leave the country. Odd, I know. I still haven't figured it out yet. You could say I am in denial. No Asia, no Europe, no South America, no tropical beach or island getaway just Provo and then San Diego. Seems weird. How will I start school again in the fall? I need time away to be mentally prepared.
I am dieing to go to Jerusalem, Egypt, Ireland, Spain, Africa . . . These are just the most urgent travel needs. But if I couldn't go to any of these places, I would love to just go on a cruise to the Virgin Islands or something.
Well I won't miss the long plane flights that's for sure. Last summer I spend approximately 44 hours in the air (4 Asian flights). But now that I have discovered Tylenol PM they really aren't so bad ;). I would really like a few weeks in Asia this summer. I have an idea for a cute shift and a fun a-line skirt, but alas no one to sew them. C'est la vie.

Who will you become?
Being 20 is great! I have about 2 more months of enjoying this age and I plan on doing just that. At this age, there is so much opportunity. There is so much I could become, but that hard part is I have to choose. I can't do everything I'd like to do because it simply isn't possible. We live in a world with physical constraints and limitations.
Today and each day after I choose who I will become. The options are endless and thus I must narrow them down. Because after all if I don't the choice will be made for me. The absence of choice is in itself a choice. So today, I choose to be happy. I choose to work hard. I choose to listen to wise council. I choose to make decisions with the guidance of the Holy Ghost. I choose to look outside myself to help others.
But most of all right now, I choose to smile, walk back into the Periodicals, and dig deep into the fundamentals of Accounting. :)

Dealing with Big Decisions
Something must be said for being rash and spontaneous. It is liberating. Yes, rarely do I practice what I preach, but I admire those who do.
At this time, I am stuck in a rut. I can't decide what I want. I am not really sure what I want. That scares me. I am like a jet plane flying without its GPS technology. Yes, I know where I eventually want to end up, but as for how I will get there your guess is as good as mine. And so I sit here confused. Constantly oscillating between decision choices. Every once and in a while I make a choice. But then I wonder was that the right choice. Regret, doubt, and uncertainty cloud my mind. Confused, lost, unsure, searching for answers.
And so I sit here, having come full circle, back at the beginning, admiring those who are brave enough to live life by the moment and yet wondering--is that really the right choice?

And then all at once . . .
Hi, I'm Amy. Yes, I am the one who created this blog four months ago and then didn't post a single thing on it. Today has been an entertaining day. I have laughed through the entire thing. Life moves so fast I can hardly keep up sometimes.
Right now I am feeling a little scatterbrained. There is so much to keep up with.
classes
assignments
quizzes
exams
papers
meetings
internship research
picking an emphasis
summer internship
informational interviews
calling
family news . . .
