Food on Demand

I have a confession to make. I love vending machines. I seem to find them everywhere on campus and when I do, I often have to get something(s). I don't know what it is.

Maybe it's the fact that I can have anything inside as long as I swipe my card. Inside those glass cases are a few of my guilty pleasures, namely those little white powdered donuts or the sour watermelon candies, mmmm. Vending machines are just so cooperative -- I select; it vends.

As a child I loved them even more. I loved them almost as much as the snack bar at John's little league games. Perhaps my love can be attributed to the fact that the machines are just so giving. Either way, I really admire people and things who do what they are told because I do have a part of me finds pleasure in not doing what I'm told. Yes, contrary to popular belief, my rebellious side does exist.

Domestic Drowning

For the first time ever, I am sitting on the edge of summer and have no plans to leave the country. Odd, I know. I still haven't figured it out yet. You could say I am in denial. No Asia, no Europe, no South America, no tropical beach or island getaway just Provo and then San Diego. Seems weird. How will I start school again in the fall? I need time away to be mentally prepared.

I am dieing to go to Jerusalem, Egypt, Ireland, Spain, Africa . . . These are just the most urgent travel needs. But if I couldn't go to any of these places, I would love to just go on a cruise to the Virgin Islands or something.

Well I won't miss the long plane flights that's for sure. Last summer I spend approximately 44 hours in the air (4 Asian flights). But now that I have discovered Tylenol PM they really aren't so bad ;). I would really like a few weeks in Asia this summer. I have an idea for a cute shift and a fun a-line skirt, but alas no one to sew them. C'est la vie.

Who will you become?

Being 20 is great! I have about 2 more months of enjoying this age and I plan on doing just that. At this age, there is so much opportunity. There is so much I could become, but that hard part is I have to choose. I can't do everything I'd like to do because it simply isn't possible. We live in a world with physical constraints and limitations.

Today and each day after I choose who I will become. The options are endless and thus I must narrow them down. Because after all if I don't the choice will be made for me. The absence of choice is in itself a choice. So today, I choose to be happy. I choose to work hard. I choose to listen to wise council. I choose to make decisions with the guidance of the Holy Ghost. I choose to look outside myself to help others.

But most of all right now, I choose to smile, walk back into the Periodicals, and dig deep into the fundamentals of Accounting. :)
